Melissa Jones, MS, CCC-SLP, founder and owner of Together We Speak
After working at Kaiser Permanente, Huntington Hospital and Pasadena School District in Orange and Los Angeles Counties assessing and treating children and adults, the commonality I found was the importance of family involvement. Throughout my experience, I met many family members who so desperately wanted to help their child, parent or spouse communicate, but felt helpless. I discovered the most essential element to successful intervention is a collaborative approach including caregivers and families. Inspired by this concept, Together We Speak came to fruition. One of the unique aspects of Together We Speak is I come to you! I provide treatment sessions in your home, office or school, saving you time commuting.

- Preschool language disorders- children ages 3-5 yo, who have problems following directions or understanding questions. Your child may have trouble learning new words or saying sentences.
- Speech sound disorders- If you’re having difficulty understanding the sounds your child says or the way your child pronounces a word, he may have a speech sound disorder. This is referred to as an articulation or phonological disorder.
- Aphasia- a language disorder that occurs from brain damage. The damage may interfere with your ability to understand, speak, read, or write. www.asha.org/public/speech/disorders/aphasia/
- Voice disorders- We’ve all experienced a cold resulting in a hoarse voice. Or perhaps, we’ve abused our voice yelling too much at a ball game. Losing our voice for a short time may be happenstance, however, if we have issues like these that last longer, something more may be happening.
